She says of their experience, “The Wilmington Symphony Youth Orchestra has provided an immeasurable experience for my daughters. The opportunity to play with dedicated and high caliber musicians has increased their talent to a new level. Getting to know students from different backgrounds throughout the area makes them feel a part of something significant.”
The mission of the Wilmington Symphony Youth Orchestra and Junior Strings is to enrich the lives of Cape Fear area youth by providing talented young musicians with unique orchestral training and performing opportunities. These ensembles perform four concerts per year, which creates opportunities for more than 100 young musicians to perform on stage.
The Wilmington Symphony Youth Orchestra is conducted by Dr. Steven Errante and managed by Robert Norem. The Junior Strings is directed by Jane Tierney.
