Tag Reader
The most important skill children must acquire in order to excel in school is reading. The Tag Reading system from LeapFrog® encourages independent reading and interaction with books through two different systems.
Tag Junior, a perfect sized device for toddlers to grip and manipulate, is designed to expose young learners to basic skills such as words recognition, number recognition, colors, shapes and songs. This is accomplished by uploading Tag Board Books onto the Tag Junior device. Then, this fun gadget reads from the Tag Board Books, plays music and describes pictures that are touched by the device. It is highly entertaining for young children and encourages them to explore all that books have to offer.
The Tag Reading System, recommended for children from 4 to 8 years old, is a bit more advanced and offers great features for phonics skills, comprehension and more. The Reading System is an optical pen which is designed to read aloud from Tag Story Books. Various features allow the pen to read one word at a time or entire pages. There are also game features which allow children to have additional fun with the story. When new books are purchased, they must be uploaded onto the pen.
These two devices from LeapFrog® encourage literacy and interaction with books without the need for adult assistance. However, they are not meant to replace the one-on-one interactions between parent and child necessary for reading success. These devices are great compliments to supportive parents, family members and teachers as young children begin their journey into literacy.
