Oatmeal Bath Gift
During the holiday season we try our best to express our appreciation for those we care about, usually in the form of giving a gift. Outside of our own family there are many people that are important to us and we'd like to let them know (such as co-workers, friends, kid's teachers, etc). The list could go on and on and the spending could get a little out of control.
Many people choose to budget their holiday spending by creating homemade gifts. These may come in the form of baked goods, clever crafts or simple sewing projects. There are many websites, including Pinterest, in which you can search for DIY gift ideas.
This week, I decided to do some searching myself to find a simple homemade gift that didn't require a lot of time (or strange ingredients) to make. I found a wonderful recipe for a simple oatmeal bath. Here are the directions for Oatmeal Cookies and Milk Bath
Ingredients:
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 2 cups powdered milk
- 1/2 cup oatmeal (not instant)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions: Mix all ingredients in blender or food processor until it is a fine powder. Just add 2 tablespoons of the mixture to your bathwater for a soothing bath.
This mixture can be placed in a glass jar. Then tie on a spoon with a fancy holiday bow for a perfect gift.
