Valentine Card
With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, many of us are still searching for unique ways to show our families and friends just how much we love them. Here are a few sweet and simple ideas that can help add a personal touch when celebrating Valentine’s Day with your loved ones.
3-D Valentine’s Day Lollipop Cards - These easy to make cards are such a cute way to have your little ones create personal Valentines for fellow classmates or family members. My son had a ball posing for his picture and couldn’t wait to see what the end result would look like!
Supplies needed:
- Camera
- Lollipops
- X-Acto knife
- Printer (or one-hour photo printing store)
Directions:
Take a photo with your child holding their arm outstretched and their hand closed in a tight fist. (You might need to take several photos to get the right shot, but that’s part of the fun!) Once you get your photo, upload it to your computer. If you choose, you can also add a personalized message with any photo editing software or app. Then print your photos on either a home printer or through a local store’s website. Once you have your photos in hand, use the X-Acto knife to cut a small line across the top and bottom of your child’s fist. Insert the lollipop carefully into the photo, and your 3-D Valentine card is complete!

Pancake
Sweetheart Strawberry Pancakes - I’ll be serving these incredibly easy and adorable pancakes up to my little ones on Valentine’s Day morning!
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups all purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon white sugar
- 3 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 ¼ cup milk
- 1 egg
- 5-6 Strawberries, cored and sliced lengthwise to resemble hearts
In a large bowl, sift the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the milk, egg and melted butter. Mix until smooth.
Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium heat. Pour the batter onto the griddle, using about ¼ cup per pancake. Gently place one strawberry slice in the center of the pancake mix and cook for 2 minutes. Flip the pancake and cook for another 2 minutes or until brown on both sides. Serve hot.
