Upon receiving a coupon for a free kids meal at Chili’s Grill and Bar, I decided it was time to review this College Road restaurant. My family and I decided to visit on a Wednesday night.
Before entering the restaurant, I noticed how crowded the parking lot was so I expected to have to wait for a table. However, I was pleasantly surprised when we walked in and were seated immediately. My daughter was given an activity booklet and some crayons to keep her busy. The atmosphere was lively, but not too loud considering how crowded the restaurant was. We were seated in the bar area, but it didn’t feel as though we were in a bar. There are televisions in this section which were set to sports channels which my husband found entertaining.
The waitress delivered drinks quickly and was very helpful when asked questions about menu items. The children’s menu offers 11 entrée options and 11 side items and kids meals are all $4.59. The adult menu has a variety of choices for entrées ranging from salads and sandwiches to Tex-Mex options (fajitas, tacos and quesadillas) as well as chicken, ribs, steaks, etc. The prices range from $7.59 to $16.99. My husband and I decided to take advantage of the 2 for $20 deal which allows you to order one appetizer and two entrées for $20. We decided on the chips and corn guacamole as out appetizer and we both ordered the half rack of ribs for our entrée selection.
Our appetizer arrived within 5 minutes of ordering and we thoroughly enjoyed it! I must say that I think the tortilla chips are the best in town…light, crispy and warm. The entrées arrived about 10 minutes later. The portions were generous and the food was tasty. Though there were many delicious looking desserts on the menu, we were too full to try any!
For those celebrating birthdays, the wait staff delivers a scoop of ice cream and sings a song.
Exclusive offers and a free order of Skillet Queso and chips are available to patrons that sign up for Chili’s e-mail club online.
The restaurant is fully equipped to handle family dining, including a baby changing station in the restroom. They are open for dinner and lunch Sunday through Thursday from 11 AM to 11 PM and on Friday and Saturday from 11 AM-12 AM.
The only negative of our dining experience was that the restrooms were a bit untidy.
Families looking for menu variety and a tasty meal at a popular chain restaurant should try Chili’s Grill and Bar.
