Thanksgiving Craft
There’s no better time than Thanksgiving to reflect on gratitude, and using arts and crafts as a method for children to express their thankfulness is a great way to begin a fun family holiday tradition. One of my favorite Thanksgiving craft ideas that can be utilized and added to year after year is creating a ‘Tablecloth of Gratitude.’ The concept and execution is simple, and the tablecloth will quickly become a family keepsake to treasure for years to come.
All you need is a basic plain white tablecloth and a black marker. You can even use a simple drop cloth found at any hardware store. Of course, if you want to be more decorative, you can also use a variety of marker colors and even some paint.
During your Thanksgiving dinner, everyone at the table would take a minute to write what they are thankful for that year right onto the tablecloth. Little ones can even have their handprints outlined above their notes of thanks (which you will need to help them write, of course.) You can even turn their handprints into cute turkeys! By adding the year next to each family member’s name and notes, you can look back and reflect on the wonderful memories and see who was with your family each Thanksgiving. This special tablecloth will slowly fill up over time with your family’s unique celebrations of thanks!
