Halloween Happenings - Fall Fun 2022
DIY Wooden Caskets Northeast Library
- October 13, 5pm – 6pm
Join the library on little Friday the 13th (AKA Thursday) to decorate little wooden caskets. All supplies provided. Registration Required. For teens 12 -18.
Autumn With Topsail Festival Historical Society of Topsail Island
- October 14 – 16
Festival features a juried Artists’ and Crafts Court with over 100 regional artists displaying and selling their work. Enjoy exciting live musical entertainment, food, beer and wine, inflatables and crafts for children.
Spooky Story Walk Pine Valley Library
- October 15, 6pm – 7pm and 7pm – 8pm
Embark on a family-friendly outdoor spooktacular adventure. Families will follow the Spooky Story Walk trail and complete activities along the way including Race Ramp Gourd Roll, Spooky Shadow Dance, Creepy Spider Climb, Jack-o-Lantern Jamboree, Book Graveyard and more. Spooky Storytelling at 6:20pm - 6:50pm and 7:20pm - 7:50pm featuring Mr. Scooter, Beth & Bailey and The Dance Element. Bring a towel to sit on for the show. For children ages 2-10. Wear your costume. Registration is required. In the event of inclement weather, this program will be moved indoors with limited activities.
4-H Pumpkin-Palooza NHC Arboretum
- October 15, 5-6pm, 6:30pm-7:30pm and 8pm-9pm
A family-friendly event for children of all ages. Interactive booths to engage families, the community, and raise awareness of the 4-H Youth Programs and volunteer opportunities. All proceeds go to 4-H Youth Programs and Scholarships. Event attendees will have the opportunity to “Experience the Adventure of 4-H” with fun new activities and returning fan favorites like the UNCW mad scientists, 4-H interactive games, and NC Aquarium scales & tails. Tickets for the event must be pre-purchased online at Friends-NHCarboretum.org and will not be for sale at the gate. Tickets are $25 per vehicle (cars, standard trucks, SUV or mini-van. No large passenger vans or buses.)
Special Effects Makeup for Teens Northeast Library
- October 24, 5pm – 6pm
Learn simple techniques to create wounds, sores, rotting flesh, and other special effects. Allergen note: Latex will be used during this program. Registration required. For teens in grades 6-12.

Little Explorers Preschool Nature Programs, ages: 2-5 Cost: $3/child. Come along as we hike through Halyburton to search for the different signals that fall is here.
Mary's Art Explorers Room on a Broom Cameron Art Museum

Halloween is right around the corner – get into the spirit with our book Room on the Broom about a kind witch and her animal friends. We will make Halloween arts and crafts and of course, costumes are encouraged. Art Explorers is geared towards infants, toddler and preschoolers, but big brothers and sisters are welcome to join and create art with us. Space is limited so preregister to guarantee your spot!
Haunted Illusions starring David Caserta Thalian Hall

What better way to celebrate Halloween than with an incredible night of magic - at the Halloween spectacular Haunted Illusions. There will be tons of tricks and more than a few treats. You and your entire family will be captivated with dazzling spells, uproarious comedy and audience participation that gets all the ghosts, ghouls, and goblins into the act.
Halloween Ghost Trolley Downtown Wilmington

Listen to ghost stories tailored for young children while riding past the historic homes in downtown Wilmington, with the horses and drivers in costume.
Oktoberfest at Carolina Beach Boardwalk
