Creativity Can Event at Learning Express

Learning Express will host a Creativity Can event at both stores on August 10 from 10-11am and 3-4pm while supplies last. Creativity Cans are products of the Creativity for Kids line by Faber-Castell. They are simple cardboard cans with materials such as pom poms, wood sticks, googly eyes and feathers that stimulate kids to use their imaginations and create whatever they like.

The idea for Creativity Cans came about due to the poor results of creativity testing in children. A recent review of the results from the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking indicate that American children's responses were less creative and showed less humor, imagination and fewer ideas. This could be due to the diminishing role of arts programs within schools. The goal of the Creativity Can is to allow children to create whatever they like with the materials given to encourage creativity

The can is free and for each creation shared online Creativity for Kids will make a donation to the Lily Sarah Grace Fund which supplies art and creativity materials to under-funded public elementary schools around the country. Sharing creations also gives kids a chance to be selected in a monthly drawing for free Creativity for Kids products.
