A group of local Wilmington photographers will soon help Wilmington families make memories to cherish by offering free portraits.
Mustaches For Kids - Wilmington NC is the largest chapter of a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has benefited children’s charities since 1999. They grow mustaches for a month, collect pledges, then have a big ‘Stache Bash and give all the proceeds to local causes. Last year our 155 Growers raised over $19,000 and we've totaled over $250k in our Chapter’s 10 year history!!!
This year one of our own photographers, Ray Baca, will be growing a "stache" to help the kids in our communities! In addition to his facial hair contribution, he has helped to organize the photo-thon "Clicks for Kids" which will benefit Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina and Brigade Boys & Girls Club.
“Clicks for Kids” will take place Nov. 23rd and Dec 3rd in Downtown Wilmington from 9 to 5pm.
The “Clicks for Kids” spokesperson says , “Our group of photographers wanted to help local families have portraits of their children, and raising money that would benefit the kids in our community. Our hope is to create a fun day where kids up to age 18 can have their portraits taken by a local professional while donating to a good cause.
To participate, families can sign up online at wilmingtongivesback@gmail.com. Portraits are made in exchange for a donation to a charity of the families choosing. Checks can be addressed directly to individual charities.
