Brunswick County Schools
Kindergarten registration for the 2014-2015 school year begins March 31 in Brunswick County. The registration period runs until April 11. Children must be 5 years old on or before August 31, 2014 to enroll them in kindergarten. Parents/guardians may register any day during the registration period at their district elementary school from 8:30-2:30. The following items must be brought when registering a new kindergarten student:
- Proof of Residence
- (Driver’s license; power bill, rent or mortgage receipt)
- Certified birth certificate (May be obtained from the Register of Deeds in the county of birth.)
- Social Security Card
- Immunization Record
A Health Assessment Report will be given to parents that requires a physical examination, vision screening and hearing screening. This form must be completed and returned prior to beginning school.
Each elementary school will also host a "Kindergarten Round Up" on Thursday, April 10 at 6pm. During this event families will enjoy dinner, classroom visits and school tours. Each rising kindergartener will also be given some free educational materials to help prepare them for school.
