Steel Magnolias
Brunswick Little Theatre will present Steel Magnolias, a play by Robert Harling, in its new venue at 8068 River Road, Southport, NC. Steel Magnolias is an alternately hilarious and touching drama set in a gossipy Southern beauty parlor where six women share in laughs and tears.
The play is directed by Thom Clemmons with the scenic design by Broadway designer Paul Bertelsen. The cast is a mix of Brunswick Little Theatre veterans and newcomers. Veterans of Brunswick Little Theatre are Beth Strickland (Annelle Dupuy-Desoto), Debbie Skillman (Clairee Belcher), and Sherrill Jolly (Ouiser Boudreaux). New to the BLT stage are Katherine Wooten (Truvy Jones), Kate Cook (Shelby Eatenton-Latcherie), and Cheryl Evans (M'Lynn Eatenton).
Show times are 7:30 pm on Oct. 17, 18, 24, 25 and 3 pm on Oct. 19 and 26. Go to www.brunswicklittletheatre.com for more information and to purchase tickets online. Tickets will be on sale at the door, but the venue is small, and it is recommended to purchase tickets early. Ticket prices are $17 for adults and $12 for students over 12. Box office opens at 7 pm.
