Living in a coastal community, my family and I spend a lot of time in the sun. Therefore, we purchase many containers of sunscreen during the spring and summer. Last summer I reviewed and fell in love with Coola organic sun care products. The only thing I didn't like about the products was the cost. With a price point of $30 and higher, I knew I needed to find something more budget friendly.
When investigating natural sunscreens, I learned that the makers of Coola had developed a line of natural sunscreen products for Target stores called Bare Republic. These sunscreens are mineral based, provide broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection, are water resistant, reef friendly and contain no synthetic fragrances. The price conscious products come in spray and lotion form and retail for only $14.99 per item.
I was excited to try these products this summer and was pleasantly surprised at how similar they are to the Cool products. The lotion rubs in well and doesn't leave a greasy film. The spray comes out a bit thick at times but is easy to rub into the skin. As far as sun protection goes, these products have worked very well. My daughter and I have both used the sunscreen spray and lotion this summer and have not experienced any sunburn. I was also pleased to see that these products did not aggravate my daughter's eczema.
